We are pleased to announce that we are adding two new logos to the Bells Pure Ice packaging: ARL and REDcycle. These logos aren’t just for decoration—they stand for our commitment to the environment.
ARL and APCO: Keeping Packaging Materials Out of Landfills
The ARL, Australasian Recycling Label, is a logo that tells consumers if and how packaging can be recycled. In the case of our ice bags, if you were to place them into your domestic recycling, the bags would likely end up in a landfill. The ARL logo shows you that you can now bring the bags to stores where they will be recycled.
The ARL is an initiative of the not-for-profit APCO, the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation. APCO’s goal is to achieve a circular economy in which packaging materials can be recycled instead of sitting in landfills and polluting the environment.
REDcycle: Recovering Post-Consumer Soft Plastic
The REDcycle logo is another initiative that we are proud to have on Bells Pure Ice packaging. REDcycle is the only program in Australia that diverts soft plastic towards recycling. By becoming partners, consumers can now drop off their bags at designated REDcycle bins, helping to divert 61% of our packaging towards recycling instead of towards landfill.
Leading by Example
As the biggest producer of ice in Australia, we know how important it is to take the lead and set an example to other companies that want to lower their environmental impact but don’t know where to start.
The ARL and REDcycle logos highlight our commitment to making the earth a greener and safer place for our children. Leaders of other companies who have the same goals can contact both of these initiatives and join us in our mission to save the environment.
Bells Pure Ice is proud to have done its part in empowering consumers to share the responsibility of reducing the amount of plastic packaging going to landfill.
